Destiny 2: How to Get Falling Guillotine and the God Roll

The Guillotine is a melee weapon that can be found in Destiny 2, and once you get it you’ll want to put it on your back. This guide will teach you how to unlock the God Roll which comes with this weapon, along with some other tips for completing the game.

Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter video game. It was released on September 6, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, October 24th for PC and finally on November

Even after a number of nerfs to swords in general, the Falling Guillotine remains one of the most powerful heavy weapons in a lot of content. This sword has been around for a long time, and it matched The Lament in terms of popularity even when swords were at their pinnacle. In this post, we’ll look at the finest Falling Guillotine perks, as well as how to gain the weapon in general and where to utilize it.

How to Catch a Guillotine in the Fall

A Falling Guillotine may be obtained in a variety of methods. This weapon isn’t difficult to get; just choose one of the techniques listed below and you’ll be good to go. I’ve listed them in order of difficulty from simplest to most difficult, so start at the top.

Splicer Decoder is the easiest method (Requires Season Pass for Season of the Splicer)

In the Helm, the Splicer decoder may be located at the Prismatic Recaster. Season of the Splicer may be found by going to “Past Seasons” and selecting it. Tier 1 Blades is the focused choice you want to choose. You’ll have a 1/3 chance of acquiring a Falling Guillotine this way, with the other alternatives being Temptation’s Hook and the season’s class-specific blade. You’ll need 1 Umbral Engram and 25 Decrypted Data to buy this engram. Override is a game where you may gain Decrypted Data.

This is certainly the best method to farm Falling Guillotine if you have a season pass for that season. If you don’t already have the pass, you’d be better off going another route since the only way to get it right now is to buy the Beyond Light Deluxe Edition.

#2 A More Difficult Method: Gunsmith Materials

If you don’t have the Splicer season pass, the easiest method to earn a Falling Guillotine is to turn in gunsmith supplies. Even if you have a season pass, you should still go to the gunsmith and give in your materials in the hopes of getting a Guillotine. You can swap 100 gunsmith materials for a “world drop” weapon, however getting a god roll this method will take a long time. There are a lot of weapons in this pool, so although you may be able to grab one fast, earning a god roll will take a long time. By destroying weapons, you may get gunsmith supplies, so go clean out your vault and play rapid game types and hope for the best.

#3 The Most Difficult Method: World Drops

While this approach will take much longer than the others, it is one that may be done while you are sleeping. Falling Guillotine may drop randomly from almost any action in the game that isn’t related to a particular loot pool, so if all else fails, simply play anything and hope for the best.

Roll of the Guillotine God

Falling Guillotine’s god roll provides a few alternatives, but not as many as some other weapons. Here are the options:

  • Hungry Edge, Jagged Edge, or Honed Edge
  • Guard of the Swordmaster
  • Strikes that are unrelenting
  • Blade of the Whirlwind

The Edge type is where you’ll find the majority of your selections. Jagged provides a +10 Impact bonus, but at the cost of -20 Ammo Capacity and Magazine. Honed has a +5 impact but no drawbacks. Hungry also offers a +20 benefit to Ammo Capacity and Magazine, but no bonus to Impact.

The guard type isn’t crucial since it just influences the number of hits needed to charge the sword’s ability (unless you actually guard with it). Technically, Swordmaster’s is the greatest since it contains a +10 Charge Rate/Time, but none of them are horrible. With the exception of Heavy Guard, which grants a -10 Charge Rate/Time.

Tireless Blade (which is essentially worthless) and Energy Transfer are the only other choices, therefore Relentless Strikes is a must-have (entirely useless). Relentless Strikes is ideal since it offers you ammunition after three consecutive light strikes.

Whirlwind Blade is one of the game’s greatest sword perks, thus it’s nearly always what you want. It gives you additional damage for a brief time when you land “rapid sword strikes,” therefore it’s a great complement to Relentless Strikes. Surrounded may also be chosen as your last perk on occasion, but only in rare instances when you know it would be beneficial. En Garde and Counterattack, the other two possibilities for the final perk, are entirely meaningless.

When Should You Use a Guillotine That Falls?

This season, Falling Guillotine has witnessed a considerable decrease in use. They are no longer the most dominating heavy type, as they were earlier this year, after repeated nerfs to swords and Guillotine itself. However, there are still plenty of opportunities to use your favorite swords. Here are a few examples:

Prophecy Dungeon: Thanks to the initial fight and the notorious cube area, Prophecy remains a refuge for sword users. Swords will always be a good addition to your armory in this dungeon since there are so many close range confrontations. Just don’t use them on the final fight unless you’re 100% sure you’ll be able to remain on the map.

Swords are good for Deep Stone Crypt Raid, particularly the Atraks-1 encounter. While The Lament is the best choice for gamers who haven’t yet obtained it, Guillotine is a great alternative for those who haven’t. Swords are particularly useful in the third confrontation, which takes place in close quarters.

Gambit: Falling Guillotine is a wonderful pick since the Primeval stage of Gambit games is usually chaotic and full of high-HP monsters and mini-bosses. It can easily shred Primeval Envoys and maybe even take out a few invaders while it’s doing it.

Lower Level Strikes: Swords aren’t recommended for end-game strikes like Grandmaster Nightfall, but they may be used in some of the lower-tier strikes. Swords are used in various Legend and Master Nightfalls. Just make sure that the strike you’re using doesn’t prioritize long-range fighting.
