The Elder Scrolls 6 is the upcoming open-world RPG from Bethesda, currently in development. The game will be the sixth installment of the flagship series that has spanned 20 years and sold more than 22 million copies worldwide.

That is especially true when I consider The Elder Scrolls VI. When I think about any of our franchisees, I can say the same thing.”
Little more is known about The Elder Scrolls 6, however Game Director Todd Howard said in the same interview that Bethesda Game Studios is hard at work on the game. He also said that the forthcoming RPG will have to follow in the footsteps of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, which is still being played and re-released a decade after its original release.
“I believe trying to say, ‘Okay, this is the thing you have to top,’ would drive me insane,” Howard added, referring to Skyrim’s durability. “But then you realize that something like The Elder Scrolls VI must be a “decade game.” How can you build a game where you tell people they have to play it for ten years?”
The Elder Scrolls 6 may not be released in the first half of this decade – no date has been set – but Howard said that the game’s “ultimate ambition” is identical to that of previous installments in the series: to take use of current technology potential and immerse players in its environment.
“You go back and read the original Elder Scrolls review. Then you go back and read The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s, and then The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s. You’ve forgotten a few things. They both read the same way. ‘You’ve taken a step out, and it seems so genuine.’ People evolve. Technology progresses. The ultimate objective, though, is to make it seem as if you’ve been transported when you start the game.”
Regardless of whether or not The Elder Scrolls 6 is an Xbox exclusive, Starfield has been confirmed as one and will be released first in 2022, with over 150,000 lines of speech.
